Hi everyone,

I would like to start this post by asking how your 2023 has been. Hopefully life's treated you well, and if so then long may it continue!

Personally though, I'm glad to see the back of this year. One can only hope that things finally start to come together in 2024, and if not then I just have to wait some more :/

Anyway, that's enough of that. I am proud to announce that my latest album, SINGULARITY, is finished and pending release. It's a prog/space rock album, Mega Drive style, which includes some of the tracks I've posted here this year (like Macrocosmic, IIS, and Origin). Winter break has given me the time and motivation to write four new tracks in the space of two weeks, which for me is unheard of lol

But because 2023 has been such a miserable year for me personally, I'm waiting till New Year's to drop the album. It'll go up on bandcamp and youtube on January 1st - I might upload the rest of the individual tracks here sometime after, if for some reason anyone wants me to :)

as I understand it I got a shoutout from mindcap regarding my 8-bit isolation remix

just want to say thanks to everybody who has taken the time to give it a listen, I'm really grateful for the attention it's received

currently I'm working on an album and a remix of "close to the edge" by yes right now but I am open to suggestions for new music - whatever it is you want to hear

if you stick around to listen to more new stuff by me, that would make me very happy indeed :)

seeing as 2022 is drawing to a close, I would also like to wish everybody a happy 2023 - hopefully plenty more music will find its way here in the next 12 months

so this is a bit of a different announcement

my music output will be slowing down to almost zero because I have started something new

I am finally learning c# and unity in preparation for that fangame I'll probably never finish

finally got over the fear of moving forward after like 18 months so feels good :)

I will compose all my own music for the game and possibly release the odd track when time permits, but I have a lot of learning to do and not a lot of time

So

I announced a couple days ago that Newcastle United was gonna be on spotify soon since I signed up with unitedmasters.

But, as it turns out, that's not going to happen any more. Why? Because they accused me of fraud. I got an email from them saying that my album "met the criteria for fraudulent activity" and that my account was gonna be suspended. No explanation, no reason, no nothing. And it really pissed me off.

I emailed them back to say I wasn't going to use their services any more if they were gonna accuse me of shit like that, and that should hopefully be the end of the matter. You can still listen to my music for free over here and on my bandcamp, but I'm putting it all under CC licences. I've decided I would like to have more control over it after what's happened today.

Anyway, if you're still reading this, go off and have fun somewhere else, you have better things to do :)

so here's a bit of an update on newcastle united

I have written 9 tracks for it, not quite the numbers I was hoping to achieve, but it's enough

I have started to run out of motivation and ideas for 8 bit music, so I'm releasing it early

I might append some bonus tracks in the future, or release a full version

but anyway

newcastle united will be available on my bandcamp on 1 January :D

I have enlisted to be part of a game development event

I am therefore taking time to improve my c# knowledge, learn how to use unity etc.

I'm still going to upload music here, although I'm now doing both 8 and 16 bit compositions

next week marks the end of my first year of music making :D

this august 19th (and every subsequent august 19th), you will be rewarded with a new short song and/or loop that demonstrates the progress i've made in that particular year

also, i got my results back for my exams and i (somehow) did okay, i enrol for college tomorrow

wish me luck!
